Google Releases January 2025 Android Security Update for Pixel Phones

Google has begun rolling out the first software update for its Pixel devices in 2025. This update encompasses all currently supported models, ranging from the Pixel 6 to the recently launched Pixel 9 series. While primarily focused on bug fixes and minor enhancements, given the recent December Pixel Feature Drop which introduced several new features and addressed numerous issues, this January update is not expected to bring any major changes.

The update will be delivered over-the-air to most users, ensuring a seamless and convenient installation process. However, three distinct builds are available for those who prefer manual updates: Global (for most users), Telstra, and EMEA. This update reinforces Google's commitment to providing timely and consistent software support for its Pixel devices, ensuring users can access the latest security patches and performance improvements.
