Today, Xiaomi' sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro flagship smartphones in India.
Xiaomi has been projecting the Redmi K20 pair as the pair of “Flagship killer 2.0.” Of the two smartphones, the Pro variant is powered to take on the likes of OnePlus 7 series, the ASUS 6z, and some other even more premium devices. The Redmi K20 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, has up to 8GB of RAM, and UFS 2.1 storage options. The non-Pro variant, on the other hand, is powered by the Snapdragon 730 along with 6GB of RAM.
Both – the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro – feature a gorgeous glass back design, notch-less displays on the front, and pop-up selfie cameras. The duo comes with triple rear cameras including 48MP primary Sony sensors. Further, the notch-less displays also house under-display fingerprint scanners as a replacement to a physical scanner.
The duo gets 4000mAh battery along with the support of Quick Charge 4.0+, which allows fast charging at 27W, as well as USB-PD. Both – the K20 Pro and the K20 get an 18W charger in the box but you can buy a 27W charger separately. Further, both the devices come with MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.
The Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro will go on sale in India via Flipkart starting July 22nd. The Redmi K20 comes in two variants – 6GB/64GB for ₹21,999 and 6GB/128GB for ₹23,999.
Of the four variants available in China, Xiaomi is only launching two variants of Redmi K20 Pro in India – 6GB/128GB for ₹27,999 and 8GB/256GB for ₹30,999. You can also buy the 27W charger additionally for ₹999.
Xiaomi has also announced a limited gold-plated and diamond-studded Signature Edition which costs a whopping ₹4,80,000 (~$7000). Xiaomi will only sell 20 units of this smartphone.
