There are some OEMs like Samsung, think the best way to avoid a notch is to put a small, or smallish, hole in the screen. But some of the other OEMs has it different.
Others have decided that hiding the camera altogether is a better way to go about it. Oppo, for instance, has just announced the F11 Pro, which features a pop-out selfie camera. That means the handset doesn’t boast a notch of any kind, giving more room to the display without any hindrances. The display in Oppo’s newest smartphone measures in at 6.3 inches, and has a 1080p HD resolution.
There is a MediaTek Helio P70 processor under the hood, keeping things humming along. That’s paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The handset has a 4000mAh battery, and there is a fingerprint reader on the back of the handset. The aforementioned pop-out selfie camera is centered on the top, and it is a 16-megapixel sensor. Meanwhile, the F11 Pro features a 48-megapixel camera on the back.
Oppo says the handset will be released in India first, but there does not appear to be a specific launch date to circle on the calendar just yet. Moreover, no word on pricing, either. Whether or not this makes it out of India remains to be seen, too.
This handset may be a precursor to another. Rumor has it that the upcoming OnePlus 7 will feature a pop-out camera design as well. If that is indeed the case, this F11 Pro from Oppo could be a clear indicator of what we’ll get from OnePlus later this year.
