Today, Instagram rolled out an update that will let you share live videos with friends through direct messages. You can also send live videos that you’re watching as well. This update comes after the follow hashtags feature which was made available last week.
To share live video with friends, just tap the direct icon at the bottom of the screen once you start the live and this option will also be available when you’re going live with a friend which is another feature that Instagram rolled out a while back. The live video which you have sent can be viewed in their Direct inbox and once the live ends, your friend will see a message saying the video has ended.
You can also disable the option to send your live videos in Direct in your stories settings, and if your account is private, only your followers will see the live video. Apart from this, as a viewer, you too can send the live to a friend in Direct the same way. The latest update to Instagram brings version number to 26 and is available for Android and iOS as well.
