Recently, the CEO of OnePlus tweeted that the fans will "appreciate what's coming" despite that the "cost of smartphone components is rising". This hinted us that the pricing of OnePlus 5T will either be similar to OnePlus 5 or at least around it. But, today a new leak which claims that the upcoming 5T handset will cost the same as its predecessor.
The source also said that the pricing of OnePlus 5T came from a local carrier, which shows two versions of the handset will be in play, just as the rumors suggest.
The 6 GB RAM / 64 GB storage model carries the $505 equivalent price tag, while the 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage high-ender would go for $581, which is pretty close to what the current OnePlus 5 model used to command. When it was in stock, that is. This is closer to the Indian prices, says the source, while in the US the phone was tagged a bit lower, so there is every chance that OnePlus will fulfill its sub-$600 pricing hint.
Needless to say, we will know for sure when the OnePlus team takes the stage on Thursday, but here's to hoping it will be one of the least expensive phones with Snapdragon 835 and the tall 18:9 display ratio this year.
