Today, At Google I/O, Google eventually got around to talking about virtual reality (VR). It confirmed that major companies will be supporting its platform, Daydream VR.
Google announced today that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+, which launched earlier this year, will officially support Daydream VR with an impending software update at some point later this year. Unfortunately Google wouldn’t confirm an exact date, but knowing the update is rolling out at some point in the future should be good news for Daydream fans.
Additionally, Google also confirmed that the next flagship phone from LG, which they did not name, will also support Google Daydream as well.
