WhatsApp is one of the famous messaging client which is being used widely on different platforms, including some Android versions. At the end of 2016, the messaging service will not work on few operating systems. An example is Android 2.2, BlackBerry 10 and Symbian S60. WhatsApp will focus on the most common operating systems or which are widely being used.
WhatsApp indicates that the operating systems that are being used the most, will receive the most focus, to do so they have to end the support of these platforms by the end of 2016:
