Though only a .1 release, Jelly Bean feels like a major upgrade to the Android platform. Project Butter makes the operating system feel smooth and fluid, addressing one of the bigger criticism of Androids past. When the 4.1 OS was unveiled at Google’s I/O developer conference, Google told us that the Nexus devices would receive the update in mid-July.
Good news for those of you who own a GSM Nexus S (either I9020T or I9023) looking to get your hands on the latest great Android release. A user over at XDA Developers has posted the official OTA update from Google so you can manually install Jelly Bean before it hits your phone as an OTA. Sprint Nexus S 4G owners will have to wait a little longer for your Jelly Bean goodness, though it should hopefully still come before the end of the month. And if you don't want to use an Stock ROM i will suggest this Rom : Jelly Belly (not Stock)
If you do install Android 4.1 on your Nexus S device, let us know your initial impressions of Jelly Bean in the comments below.
